Description
The Fusion VCA v2 (14HP) from Erica Synths, is an updated version of the classic tube driven VCA. The fusion series is designed to utilise vacuum tubes, providing the warmth and depth they’re famous for providing, while also still keeping current draw to a minimum.
The Fusion VCA v2 utilizes a unique pentode 1Ж24B tube, with current draw similar to an LED. When audio is fedback within the VCA, it adds harmonics and can act similarly to a low pass filter. The Fusion VCA also utilizes Germanium diodes for a classic overdrive/distortion.
- Due to the fact that cold tube heaters have lower resistance, Fusion modules have significant power consumption peak at startup, when power consumption almost doubles for 1-2 seconds. This is not a problem with linear PSUs that have power inertia, but may cause switching PSU internal protection turn off the power supply. Please make sure your PSU has some headroom before installing multiple Fusion modules.
