Exclusive to Willcutt Guitars, this Gibson Custom Shop ’57 Les Paul Standard Reissue features the V2 SlimTaper neck, a Custom Shop carve developed specifically for Willcutt. It delivers the comfort and speed of a ’60s profile while retaining the depth and vintage feel of a late-’50s neck — offering an ideal balance of playability and tone.
The guitar pairs a 2-piece figured maple top with a lightweight one-piece mahogany back, joined with hide glue and finished in Nitrocellulose VOS Goldtop for authentic vintage character. Its Indian rosewood fingerboard features aged cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays and Historic narrow/tall frets, completing the timeless look and feel.
A pair of Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups (unpotted) deliver true late-’50s PAF clarity and warmth, controlled via hand-wired CTS 500K pots and paper-in-oil capacitors. Period-correct appointments include a No-Wire ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminum stop bar, Kluson Single Line tuners, and amber Catalin switch tip.
