Description
Not much is known about the 1975 Morris Custom Mando Mania guitar, but is best described as “Plays like a Les Paul, looks like a Mandolin”. It is roughly the same size as a Les Paul but looks like a Mandolin. Here is an article from Michael Wright written a few years back that sums up where it came from and why. It came to our attention a few years back through Americanguitarist and composer, Henry Kaiser.
Henry wasa big fan of Miles Davis guitarist Pete Cosey, who was one of the fewpro players that used the Morris Custom Mando Mania guitar. His fiercely flanged and distorted tonebore comparisons to Jimi Hendrix. Here is a great article from Premier Guitar about the late Pete Cosey.
The original had a logo on the headstock that said “The Morris”. As a tip of the hat to Pete, we’re decided to call this “The Cosey” instead. The photos are of our prototype, the final version will have “The Cosey” logo on the headstock and will includea custom gigbag.
