Description
The 1957 Gibson Les Paul™ Standard Goldtop marked a pivotal moment in guitar history. It was the first year the legendary Patent Applied For humbuckers™ were introduced, paired with the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, transforming the Les Paul into the powerhouse design that would shape generations of rock, blues, and beyond.
Now, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, Epiphone proudly presents the 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue — a stunningly authentic recreation that delivers vintage looks, feel, and tone at an accessible price.
Crafted with a solid mahogany body and a carved maple cap, the Goldtop shines in a Vintage Gloss Double Gold finish that captures the character of the originals without heavy aging. The one-piece mahogany neck, built with a long tenon joint, features a comfortable 1957 Rounded C profile for period-correct playability and rich sustain. A bound rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays completes the authentic playing experience.
Every detail is vintage-accurate, from the aged Epiphone headstock logo and gold “Les Paul Model” silkscreen, to the historically placed side dot markers. Nickel hardware includes the ABR-1 bridge, historic aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, and Epiphone Deluxe Single Ring Keystone tuners.
At its core are a pair of USA Gibson Custombucker humbuckers with Alnico 3 magnets, delivering the warm, articulate, and powerful tones that defined the ’57 Les Paul Standard. These are hand-wired to CTS® pots, Bumblebee Luxe paper-in-oil capacitors, and Switchcraft® components for vintage-correct response and reliability.
The guitar comes complete with a brown hardshell case lined in pink plush, adorned with Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics, for the ultimate vintage touch.
