Description
Giorgio Grisales is a renowned Colombian-born violin maker based in Cremona, Italy, a city known for its rich tradition of string instrument craftsmanship. After moving to Cremona in the 1980s, he studied at the International School of Violin Making and trained with respected Italian luthiers. Since opening his workshop in 1990, Grisales has become known for crafting violins, violas, cellos and double basses that blend classical Cremonese methods with his own refined style. In 1998, Grisales deepened his knowledge of the string instrument family by completing a diploma in bow making, adding to his already refined skill set as a luthier. Grisales is also an active figure in Cremona’s luthier community, dedicated to preserving its historic legacy.
