Martin Hiller is a trade name, a brand of German andthen later Chineseinstruments crafted with well seasoned and carefully selected European tonewoods and then shipped to the United States to be varnished. The craftsmanship is meticulous and graceful. This 16 1/4” viola was crafted in 1997 and bears a Martin Hiller label ascribing it as the #59th production in Stuttgart. Its voice is broad, resonant, and full of warmth.
