Silktone Overdrive+ – Purple Sparkle
A Palen Music exclusive! The Silktone Overdrive+ is a truly original circuit that provides a wide range of saturated tones, from a subtle, always-on enhancement to a ripping, high-gain lead machine. Unlike many pedals that use op-amps for clipping, the Overdrive+ is built with a unique combination of JFETs and diodes to handle all the clipping, while the op-amp is raised to a high voltage to ensure it never clips. This innovative construction results in a rich, full-bodied tone that is both dynamic and touch-sensitive. The added dirty boost feature, the “plus” part of the pedal, adds gain and second harmonic distortion to push your sound even further into saturated territory.
The Overdrive+ is incredibly versatile, allowing you to fine-tune your sound with a three-way toggle switch for symmetric/asymmetric clipping and a bass cut switch to tighten up your low end. The second footswitch activates the dirty boost, which can be toggled between “STRANGLE,” a resonant filter that creates a “cocked wah” effect, or “RAW,” a full-range boost. This exclusive Purple Sparkle finish adds a unique flair to an already powerful and unique pedal.
