Description
Scottish Dances begins with a simple, mournful melody in B minor in the upper strings. This opening section helps develop a nice legato bowing for all parts and also uses a slow hook-stroke. The piece then moves into a bright Allegro in D Major in cut common time. The melody is not difficult and can be taken at a speed that suits your ensemble. There is a pizzicato section before the main melody returns. A fun and energetic piece for a young or developing ensemble.
